In this role, colleagues are responsible for working with large data sets of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data to discover hidden knowledge about the business and develop methods to leverage the knowledge within the customer groups. General Job Duties: As the technical expert, responsibilities include mining and analyzing data across hundreds of data sets, research papers, models, consulting engagements on behalf of more than 2,000 Consultants, Researchers and Analysts globally.Specific Job Duties: Mine data across hundreds of data sets create easy access Analyze data across hundreds of data sets Maintain inventory of key analytical data sets, models, research, consulting engagements Provide insightful analysis to solve key business problems using advanced statistics and data mining techniques Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources Assists in preparation and cleansing of 3rd party and or customer data for analysis. Required Education: Bachelors degree in Statistics, MIS, Applied Mathematics or Physics; graduate degree is preferred. 4 to 6 years of related experience.Required Experience:Strong knowledge of statistical methods generally, and particularly in the areas of modeling and business analytics Familiarity with SQL and relational databases Familiarity with SAS, Enterprise Miner, Enterprise Guide, etc. Must have at least four years of corporate experience in data mining and statistics. Experience in analyzing massive and highly complex data sets, performing ad-hoc analysis and data manipulation. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to effectively resolve complex situations and issues. Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner. Solid technical knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business related software systems, including processing systems and applications, hardware and software tools, programming languages, computer modeling, and spreadsheet applications.
