The computerised system for conducting learner licence tests crashed at the Tardeo RTO office on Wednesday. The officials then told the candidates to appear for a manual test, which has been stopped months ago.
"We had no option but to go for the manual tests as our software, which is an old one, had crashed. We did not want to inconvenience candidates who had taken online appointments to come for the tests and for paying fees, biometrics etc. This is the reason we conducted the tests manually and issued the learner licence to those who passed," said regional transport officer Govind Saindane. He stated that an urgent letter has been dispatched to the transport commissioner's office, requesting for replacement of the software. |
