As a QA Engineer/Lead you will work as part of a team responsible for validating front end of ASUP based software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for supportability of NetApp's products. You are expected to develop, modify, and execute software test plans; analyze and write test standards and procedures; maintain documentation of results; and work closely with development engineers in resolution of problems. As part of the Service Automation Technologies, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. A major part of your responsibility will be to apply your current skills and up-to-date technologies to test and deliver web- and server-based functionality utilizing large, enterprise-class RDBMS. You will be involved in all aspects of the software testing and maintenance life cycles ensuring high quality output in the following areas: � Develop overall understanding of ASUP based functionality. � Develop in depth knowledge of functional area assigned. � Responsible for defining test requirement for maintenance releases and managing weekly testing schedules, priorities, and tracking. � Overall responsible for reviews and approval of all bugs included in respective functional area. � Ensure Root Cause Analysis of bugs escapes in maintenance releases. � Write and get approval of test plan � Assist with defining and implementing metrics on release quality. � Execute automated/manual regression test suites � Work with developers to debug test failures and file defect reports � Develop & enhance automated test scripts in perl or any other automation tool. � Responsible for system, function, integration, regression, stress, load and performance testing either manually and/or using tools. Other duties include producing and executing test cases, raising fault reports and working with the software development team to resolve problems. � Be a good team player, along with a strong desire to work as a Tester who can deliver quality results under tight time frames. � Contributes to ways of improving quality processes and minimizing the quality issues for corrective and preventive actions As part of the Support Tools team, you will be accountable for meeting your commitments to ensure our programs complete on time and meet or exceed our customer's expectations. Requirements: The successful candidate must have: � Solid understanding of Organizational, QA Process, Test Planning, Managing and tracking skills required. � ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic schedule driven environment. � Good understanding of test tools & estimations. � Expertise in Black box and white box testing � The successful candidates will possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, a solid understanding of standard testing techniques and methodologies, and outstanding verbal and written communication skills. � Have work experience with SQL, Oracle � Experienced in QTP and/or other automation tools Other desired qualities: � Good understanding of quality processes like CMM will be an advantage � Ability to leverage open source software � Working knowledge using Oracle in large, data warehouse applications � Exposure to Scimitar A minimum of 5 years of experience in application development is required. 6 to 7 years of experience is preferred.
