Cloud and mobile testing company SOASTA is working with CA Technologies to speed and simplify mobile app testing, which will lead to faster and more accurate app launches.
Under the partnership, SOASTA's CloudTest will be integrated with CA Service Virtualization and the CA LISA Test software suites. The fully-integrated solution, to be called CA LISA Cloud Test, will offer web and mobile devs a unified platform that can simulate web and mobile UX (user experience) for every possible scenario.
It will also help devs and QA teams locate and reduce latency thanks to end-to-end virtualization and simulation technologies that let devs virtualize a wide range of resources from backend services to the operating system to simulate and test apps.
CA LISA CloudTest provides a rich set of integrated features aimed at providing a seamless DevOps lifecycle. Among some of the notable components are:
Real-time performance analytics that allow testers to drill into live data while tests are running to pinpoint performance bottlenecks and potential areas of stress in a web application. An adjustable test bed with the ability to start, stop, pause and restart tests for an iterative testing approach that will accelerate DevOps tasks across the lifecycle. An innovative streaming dashboard to guide engineers to areas where they can get the most meaningful results. The ability to virtualize backend services and simulate how activity from millions of users will impact the company's existing infrastructure and network elements; and Instantly elastic and scalable capacity thanks to integration with the SOASTA Global Test Cloud, which federates millions of cloud-based servers from major cloud providers and thousands of real mobile devices. The result is what SOASTA calls "the world's largest test cloud" that seamlessly combines public resources with an enterprises' own local servers and devices to cover every possible user scenario. Shridhar Mittal, general manager of Application Delivery at CA said the two companies aim to offer a solution that "compresses critical processes throughout the system development life cycle." Because CloudTest lets customers virtualize many web and mobile user experiences, the integrated technologies will "increase the value of service virtualization and end-to-end testing from the development lab all the way to production environments," he added.
For his part, Tom Lounibos, CEO of SOASTA said, "This partnership . . . gives the development community the most agile, scalable and comprehensive global test platform for developing web and mobile apps."
